In-coach entertainment on UK trains
Many train operating companies (TOCs) are focusing on the level of service and facilities they can provide to passengers during their train journey.
Over the last few years, this has included onboard WiFi, improved catering facilities and premium First Class benefits. A number of TOCs have also begun to develop in-coach entertainment on certain services in the form of TV screens on the back of seats, offering a choice of entertainment content including sports, comedies, drama and documentaries. Programmes can be paused, stopped, rewound or fast-forward to allow you ultimate flexibility in your viewing. News, maps and journey information is also available on some services.
Great Western Railway has implemented in-coach entertainment (Volo TV) in Coach D of all its high speed trains. Passengers can register for the service online or via their mobile phone. Please note that the cost of the entertainment is not included when you buy train tickets.
